Candace Evilsizor
Chief of Staff
We’d love to learn more about you. Describe your role on the team.
I primarily serve as an extension of the founders. In practice, that means supporting functions that aren’t yet fully built out, driving strategic projects, and helping create alignment across teams. On any given day, I might be drafting materials for the board, taking meetings on Capitol Hill, or helping shape our go-to-market priorities. The through line is simple: I focus on whatever will most move the business forward.
Describe your journey into this role
Before joining Method, I spent three years as a management consultant at Boston Consulting Group, where one of my projects involved helping financial institutions address the racial wealth gap. I then served as Chief of Staff at another fintech that aimed to give users personalized financial advice. From these experiences, I immediately saw how Method’s passwordless liability data and payment rails could power insightful financial tools, just-in-time offers, and seamless debt consolidation to improve financial outcomes. It was clear that Method’s infrastructure could unlock the future of open banking, and I wanted to help make that possible.
What attracted you to Method?
Method’s technology is truly differentiated. Unlike traditional solutions that rely on usernames and passwords, Method enables secure, permissioned access to liability data without requiring consumers to be signed up for online banking at all of their accounts first. That means we can power open banking experiences for the 35 million American households who have been left out of them until now. The scale and inclusivity of that mission are what drew me here.
How does your work impact peoples’ financial lives?
Our data helps people receive more tailored financial advice, enabling them to make smarter, more confident money decisions. At the same time, the payment rails we provide to lenders make it easier for borrowers to qualify for debt consolidation products, reducing their cost of capital and helping them reach financial stability faster. By helping keep Method’s organization aligned and focused on the most important things, I ensure more customers, and ultimately, Americans benefit from our products and services.
Describe Method’s culture and an experience that encapsulates it
Culture isn’t a buzzword at Method; we build intentional rhythms that keep it front and center. We run annual culture surveys to understand how our team is doing, and our biggest strengths consistently come through as connectivity, flexibility, and autonomy. That speaks to the power of our hub model and the high-trust environment we’ve built.
One of my favorite examples is our monthly Demo Day, where everyone—from senior leaders to still-in-college interns—showcase what they are working on. My favorite is any demo that shows what our customers are building with our real-time data and payment rails. It’s an open, collaborative space that reinforces our culture of inclusion and shared ownership. Anyone can share their work!
Tell me more about the hub that you work in and what do you like about it?
Our D.C. hub is the operational powerhouse of Method. The team here has an outsized impact relative to our size. The office personality is quirky, creative, and close-knit. We have a long-running Scrabble rivalry (it’s always all of us vs. Phil, our General Counsel, and somehow, Phil always wins). Our decor features pieces from local high school art students, and we keep things light with small pranks, like swapping out the captions under the artwork.

What’s been your favorite memory with the team so far?
Definitely our company field day this past summer in DC. We had to move it indoors due to weather, but that didn’t slow us down at all. The facilitator described us as “high energy,” which honestly feels like an understatement. Everyone’s competitive nature came out.
Last question, Method is redefining financial connectivity. Why should people come and build with us?
If you want to be part of an AI-first company that’s immune to the AI bubble, Method is your bet. The most forward-thinking players in financial services—companies like SoFi, Bilt, Robinhood, and Credit Karma—are building entirely new experiences for consumers, and they rely on Method to make it possible.
