Today, I’m excited to announce that Method has raised a $42 million Series B led by Emergence Capital with participation from Avra, Samsung, and our existing investors: Andreessen Horowitz, Y Combinator, Truist, and Ardent. This new round will help us accelerate, grow our team, and continue building the future of financial connectivity.
Tackling a Universal Problem
We started Method in 2021 after experiencing first hand how broken the financial account connectivity ecosystem was. We spent countless hours talking to other fintechs, founders, and end-users and confirmed that this wasn’t just our problem—it was a universal one. Ultimately, the fragmentation and lack of connectivity was hurting traditional Americans who were unable to access better financial opportunities. We knew that if we could empower fintechs, financial institutions, and end-users with better connectivity, we could unlock a new wave of innovation.
What is better? To us, better meant three things: complete, real-time access to any financial account, securely accessible to consumers, with both read and write capabilities. In order to build better, we had to rethink the fundamentals of financial connectivity. We did—and Method was born.
Impact Since our Last Fundraise
Since our last round of funding in 2023, we’ve grown at an incredible pace. We’ve enabled 30 million password-less account connections for nearly 4 million Americans, processing over $500 million in payments along the way.
These numbers aren’t just metrics—they’re evidence of Method powering entirely new experiences. Our customers aren’t replacing existing solutions with Method; they’re innovating new experiences that were previously impossible. It has been incredible to see all the use-cases universally focused on creating better financial outcomes for all Americans.
For example, Bilt uses Method’s Card Connect – a first-of-its-kind solution enabling consumers to connect all their credit cards using just their phone number and consent. By leveraging Method’s APIs, Bilt eliminated the friction of users manually entering their credit card information, billing details, and more across multiple credit cards, making it easier than ever for Bilt users to unlock rewards and maximize their financial potential.
On the other side of the equation is Figure, currently using Method’s APIs to power its new Intellidebt Direct Pay feature. Borrowers use HELOC proceeds to seamlessly pay off high-interest debt directly within Figure’s application flow. By streamlining debt payments and enabling borrowers to qualify for more offers, Figure reduces debt burdens by an average of $500-$600 per month and helps expand credit access – all powered by Method.
And then there is Vola who came to us wanting to build out a feature-rich Loan Dashboard. They wanted to help users navigate debt obligations in real time, improve their credit scores, and make informed financial decisions for long-term financial well-being. After collaborating with us and leveraging our consumer-permissioned financial data, Vola achieved a 10x increase in Loan Dashboard users with users seeing an average credit score improvement of 31 points.
These are just a few examples. Companies like SoFi, Aven, PenFed, and FlexCar are also pushing boundaries and creating groundbreaking financial experiences powered by Method.
A Vision for the Future
We believe financial connectivity should be effortless and inclusive. Our vision is to continue making that happen for many decades to come by powering the next generation of financial experiences. This new round of funding is another stepping stone toward a world where everyone has the tools they need to make informed financial decisions. We have a series of announcements coming up announcing some of the exciting new tools.
I want to thank our clients, partners, investors and team for believing in our mission and helping us get to where we are today. We have so much more work to do. If you’re a kind and talented person who believes in our vision as strongly as we do, we’d love for you to join us: careers.methodfi.com.
